What is an elopement

An elopement is a type of wedding ceremony in which the couple chooses to marry in secret, often without the knowledge or consent of their families and friends. This type of wedding is usually much smaller and more intimate than a traditional wedding, and often takes place at a location that holds special meaning to the couple. Eloping has been around for centuries, but in recent years it has become more popular as a way to escape the stress and expense of a traditional wedding, and to focus on the love and commitment between the couple.

When couples elope, they typically plan the ceremony themselves, often with the help of a wedding planner or other professional and luxury vendors. The ceremony can be as simple or as elaborate as the couple wishes, but it is typically much more intimate and personal than a traditional wedding. The couple can exchange vows in a remote location, such as a beach or mountain top, or in a historic or unique location such as a castle or garden.

Eloping can also be a way for couples to include an adventure and travel into their special day. As a growing trend, destination elopements have been popular, where couples choose a location around the world, and only the closest friends or family are invited. It can be a romantic way to get married while exploring a new place and creating unforgettable memories.

It’s worth mentioning that, while eloping can be a more intimate and personal way to get married, it can also be a difficult decision for some couples. It’s important to consider that some families and friends may be disappointed and hurt to not be part of the special day. So, before making a decision, couples should have a conversation about what is important to them and weigh the pros and cons of eloping.

In terms of legalities, it’s important to research the laws and regulations for marriage in the area where you plan to elope. In some countries, a couple will need to obtain a marriage license and have a witness present during the ceremony, while in others, they may need to provide proof of identification or residence. Each country and state have different regulations, and it’s important to be informed and follow them to ensure that your elopement is legally binding.

Why choose an elopement

Couples choose to elope for a variety of reasons. Some of the most common reasons include:

  1. Simplicity: Eloping is often seen as a simpler and more intimate alternative to a traditional wedding. Without the need to plan a large event, couples can focus on what truly matters: their love and commitment to one another.

  2. Cost: Traditional weddings can be incredibly expensive, and many couples find that eloping is a more budget-friendly option. Eloping often involves fewer guests and vendors, which can help to keep costs down.

  3. Privacy: Some couples may prefer a more private ceremony, and choose to elope in order to avoid the attention that comes with a traditional wedding. Eloping allows couples to have a more intimate and personal experience, free from the pressure of a large guest list.

  4. Adventure: For couples who love to travel and explore new places, an elopement can be a perfect way to combine the adventure of a destination wedding with the intimacy of a small ceremony. A elopement can take place anywhere the couple chooses, including breathtaking locations around the world.

  5. Flexibility: Elopements offer more flexibility than traditional weddings. Couples can get married whenever and wherever they want, without having to worry about coordinating schedules with friends and family, or booking a venue well in advance.

  6. Personalization: Eloping gives couples the freedom to personalize their ceremony however they want. Whether it’s incorporating traditions that are important to them, choosing unique location or simply choose the clothes they love, an elopement is truly a reflection of who they are.

It is important to note that eloping is not for everyone and couples should weigh the pros and cons of this kind of event. Many families and friends would be disappointed and hurt to not be part of their loved one’s special day. But for some couples an elopement can be an opportunity to have a special, intimate and unique experience.

How to elope in Italy

Eloping is a relatively simple process, but there are a few steps you’ll need to take to ensure that your ceremony is legally binding and that everything runs smoothly on your special day. Here’s an overview of the steps you should take to plan your elopement:

  1. Research the laws and regulations in the area where you plan to elope: Eloping laws and regulations can vary depending on the country, state, or province where you plan to get married, so it’s important to familiarize yourself with the requirements in the area where you plan to elope. For example, in some countries you’ll need to obtain a marriage license and have a witness present during your ceremony, while in others you may need to provide proof of identification or residence.

  2. Choose a location: Whether you’re looking for a remote beach, a scenic mountain overlook, or a historic city, there are countless options to choose from when planning an elopement. Consider the time of year, weather conditions, and what type of ceremony you’re envisioning when choosing a location.

  3. Hire an officiant: Some location may require an officiant, or you can choose to have a friend or family member officiate your ceremony. Make sure to review their credentials and ensure that they are legally able to perform your ceremony in the location you’ve chosen.

  4. Plan the details: Once you’ve chosen a location and an officiant, it’s time to start planning the details of your ceremony. You can create a simple ceremony or choose to include special rituals, such as traditional vows or special readings.

  5. Hire a videographer and photographer: Eloping doesn’t mean to skip having beautiful memories of your special day. Look for a videographer that specializes in elopements and destination weddings, so they can capture the candid and special moments of your ceremony.

  6. Notify friends and family: Many couples choose to keep their elopement a secret, but if you want to share the news with friends and family, make sure to do so with consideration. You can choose to share the news via phone, email, or social media, or even to plan a reception to celebrate with them afterwards.

  7. Be flexible: Be prepared that something might not go as planned, but remember that it’s all part of the adventure. Have contingency plans in place and be open to changing your plans if need be.

By following these steps, you’ll be well on your way to planning a beautiful and unforgettable elopement. Remember that eloping is not for everyone and couples should weigh the pros and cons of this kind of event, but for many, it can be a way to have a special, intimate and unique experience.

Ready to answer to all of your questions and needs

Sure! You can request the price quotation by calling me or filling out the form. If you prefer, you can also send an email to this address:

Weddings and elopements are confirmed only by contract and first deposit. Usually couples book their event 6-9 months in advance: for this reason, please contact me in time so that i can check our availability immediately.

Generally work is divided into two types: weddings and elopements.

For the wedding what is delivered is:

  • Trailer 4K (from 2 to 4 minutes).
  • Film 4K (from 10 to 15 minutes).
  • Extra videos 4K (these are video clips in addition containing full speeches, dances and other things).

For the elopement what is delivered is:

  • Trailer 4K (from 1 to 3 minutes).
  • Film 4K (from 5 to 7 minutes).

However, nothing prevents you from extending your requests while signing the contract (adding video of welcome diner, instagram reels, raw footage, etc).
The payment is divided in three parts:

  • 40% to block the date with signing of the contract.
  • 40% the day of the event.
  • 20% after checking the videos.

As soon as I receive the last payment, you can download the videos from my personal Google Drive.

Generally, not more than 90 working days, as written in the contract. However, in special cases, after agreements at the contractual stage, delivery times may be shortened.

The videos are delivered in digital format via my Google Drive. However, upon extra payment, you can request a usb pen box set on which you can keep a copy of the videos.

Weddings and elopements have always been made by me and my team of professional videographers. However, during our acquaintance you will know immediately if I will be free for your event or if my team will be present.

For years so far, I have chosen not to charge for the drone as for a service apart, so it is already included in my basic package and there is no increase in price. This instrument will be used at my discretion, where there is needed.

In some places drone use is unfortunately not permitted. In that case I will use 4K stock aerial footage of the location.

In a wedding we generally stay from 10 to 12 hours. For an elopement the service time ranges from 4 to 6 hours.

Obviously it is possible to create a tailor-made contract for you in order to cover the entire event (welcome dinner, night party, post and pre wedding experiences).

Yes, you can make some small changes to the video such as scene changes. It is not possible to change the music because the music is always chosen by the couple before starting the assembly phase.

I always give the couple the choice of two important things:
the music and the parts of the speeches.

The music can be chosen by the couple before or after the wedding day.

For the speeches, however, I send the couple all the videos of the speeches and the couple can tell me the most important minutes they want to have in the video.

In this way I try to create a product that is as close to what the couple would like to receive.

Obviously this is not a requirement. If the couple doesn’t want to do this, they can totally rely on my personal taste.
