10 Things to know about a Wedding Videographer

1) Experience and style

Experience and style are two important factors to consider when choosing a wedding videographer.

Experience is important because it can give you confidence in the videographer’s ability to capture the important moments of your wedding day. An experienced videographer should have a portfolio of work that demonstrates their skills and the quality of their work. They should also be familiar with working at different wedding venues and be able to work well with other vendors.

Style refers to the overall aesthetic and artistic approach of the videographer. Different videographers have different styles, and it’s important to choose one that aligns with your vision for your wedding video. Some videographers have a more documentary style, while others may have a more cinematic approach. Consider what style best suits your preferences and the feel you want for your wedding video.

Overall, experience and style are both important considerations when choosing a wedding videographer. Look for a videographer with experience shooting weddings and a portfolio of work that you like, and choose a style that aligns with your vision for your wedding video

2) Equipment

Equipment is an important consideration when choosing a wedding videographer, as the quality of the equipment used can greatly affect the final product.

First and foremost, the videographer should have high-quality cameras that are capable of capturing clear, crisp footage. This could include DSLR cameras, mirrorless cameras, or camcorders. It’s also a good idea to ask about the type of lenses the videographer uses, as different lenses can produce different results. For example, a wide-angle lens might be good for capturing a wide shot of the ceremony, while a telephoto lens might be better for close-ups of the vows.

In addition to cameras, the videographer should also have a range of audio equipment to capture clear sound. This could include microphones for the ceremony and reception, as well as wireless lapel microphones for the wedding party.

Other important pieces of equipment for a wedding videographer might include stabilizers for smooth footage, drones for aerial shots, and lighting equipment for low light situations.

It’s a good idea to ask the videographer about their equipment and ensure that they have the necessary tools to capture high-quality footage of your wedding. It’s also worth considering if the videographer has backup equipment in case of any technical issues.

Overall, choosing a wedding videographer with high-quality equipment and a range of tools is important for ensuring that you receive a polished, professional final product.

3) Packages and pricing

Packages and pricing are important considerations when choosing a wedding videographer. Wedding videographers often offer a range of packages at different price points, so it’s important to consider your budget and what you want included in your video.

Some basic packages may include coverage of the ceremony and reception, while more comprehensive packages might include additional events such as the rehearsal dinner or getting ready on the wedding day. Packages may also vary in terms of the length of coverage, the number of videographers, the number of cameras used, and the number of copies of the final video provided.

In addition to the main packages, many videographers also offer add-on options such as additional coverage, raw footage, a highlight reel, or a longer feature film. These options can add to the overall cost, so be sure to consider what you want and need before making a decision.

It’s also important to pay attention to the details of the package and what is included. Some videographers may offer additional services such as editing or color grading, while others may only provide the raw footage. Make sure you understand what is included in the package and what, if any, additional fees may apply.

When it comes to pricing, be aware that the cost of wedding videography can vary greatly depending on the videographer’s experience, the package chosen, and the location of the wedding. Be sure to get quotes from multiple videographers and compare packages to find the best fit for your budget.

Overall, it’s important to carefully consider packages and pricing when choosing a wedding videographer to ensure that you get the coverage and services you want at a price that fits your budget.

4) Legal issues

There are a few legal issues that may arise when hiring a wedding videographer. It’s important to be aware of these issues and address them before the wedding to avoid any problems on the big day.

One legal issue to consider is whether the videographer has liability insurance. This insurance can protect both the videographer and the couple in case of any accidents or injuries that may occur during the wedding. It’s a good idea to ask the videographer about their insurance coverage and ensure that it is sufficient for your needs.

Another legal issue to be aware of is the use of music in the wedding video. It’s important to make sure that any music used in the video has the proper copyright permissions. The videographer should have a license to use any copyrighted music, or the couple should provide music that is in the public domain or for which they have obtained the necessary permissions.

It’s also a good idea to have a written contract with the videographer that outlines the details of the videography services, including the duration of coverage, the number of cameras and videographers, the final edit, and any additional fees. This contract can help protect both parties and ensure that there is a clear understanding of the terms of the agreement.

It’s also a good idea to discuss any specific shots or moments that are important to you and make sure that the videographer is aware of them.

During the planning process, it’s important to keep in touch with the videographer and stay updated on their progress. This can help ensure that everything is on track and that any issues or concerns are addressed in a timely manner.

FAQ

Ready to answer to all of your questions and needs

Sure! You can request the price quotation by calling me or filling out the form.

Absolutely not. The conclusion of a contract indicates first of all the professionalism of the videographer and at the same time protects the customer. Mine is a very synthetic contract with no small news.

The final product is divided in three parts:

  • Trailer 4K (from 2 to 4 minutes).
  • Film 4K (from 10 to 15 minutes).
  • Extra videos 4K (these are video clips in addition containing full speeches, dances and other things).
However, nothing prevents you from extending your requests while signing the contract.

The payment is divided in three parts:

  • 40% to block the date with signing of the contract.
  • 40% the day of the ceremony.
  • 20% after checking the videos.
As soon as I receive the last payment, you can download the videos from my personal Google Drive.

Generally, not more than 90 working days, as written in the contract. However, in special cases, after agreements at the contractual stage, delivery times may be shortened.

The videos are delivered in digital format via my Google Drive. However, upon extra payment, you can request a usb pen box set on which you can keep a copy of the videos.

By contract I guarantee my presence, as well as that of my collaborators and assistants called for related services requested.

For years so far, I have chosen not to charge for the drone as for a service apart, so it is already included in my basic package and there is no increase in price. This instrument will be used at my discretion, where there is needed.

Generally, for the duration of the event until the cake cut. After that, I always try to stay at least an hour longer to catch some other interesting moments before leaving. However, it is possible to make me stay further. In that case I offer another package called “after party”.

Yes, you can make some small changes to the video such as scene changes. It is not possible to change the music because the music is always chosen by the couple before starting the assembly phase.
