The wedding is, without any doubt, one of the most important event in the life of a couple: at the same time, it is the starting point and the crowning moment of a love story. An unforgettable day for the two lovers and for their families and friends who want to celebrate their love with them.
Precisely for this reason, organizing every detail at the utmost is crucial for making this day really perfect by creating a synergy between everyone, starting with the organizer and ending with who – just like me and the photographer – has the task to record all of this with videos and photographs. Today I want to tell you about Borgo Stomennano, a famous medieval village rich in history and natural wonders in the province of Siena, Tuscany.

Tuscany: an oasis in the middle of Italy
Tuscany is famous for being the cradle of Italian Renaissance. It has a secular heritage of history and art you cannot unsee even just by walking down the streets. It numbers many castles, churches, farmhouses and medieval and renaissance villages that are nowadays converted into elegant realis and wedding halls: perfect locations I love to record with my videos, and I’m not the only one!
Important directors such as Ridley Scott, Edward Morgan Foster and many others have chosen this region for something more than just videos! They chose it as the scenography for their movies which now are internationally famous.
In addition, since Tuscany is located in the very middle of Italy, its weather never upsets! It is always mild: on the hills, the temperature is just perfect: the ground is always sun-kissed and the wind blows gently between the leaves, providing relief during the warmest days.
Weddings celebrated in Tuscany are a complete guarantee of wellbeing, starting from the Mediterranean climate and weather, which are two crucial things to live the perfect day without any bad surprise.

A treasure among Italian wonders
When a couple decides to get married, the first step is always to look for the best place where to set the scene for their love story. Our Belpaese is full of astonishing landscapes and plenty of choice regarding scenic wedding locations. But there is no doubt: Tuscany is the most chosen region among foreigners for a “Matrimonio all’Italiana”.
The reasons of this record are many, and relate to the beauty of the landscapes, the mild weather, the richness of the wine and food proposal and the cultural and artistic heritage scattered all over the region, with its numerous castles and Renaissance villages. In all this variety, Faz and Oli have chosen specifically the Stomennano Tenuta to celebrate their wedding. In this place, their love story intertwines with the history of Monteriggioni.

The charming history of Monteriggioni
The estate is located in Monteriggioni, a wonderful medieval town. This magical place offers astonishing landscapes and unspoiled nature as far as the eye can see, with hills, olive trees, streams and rivers framing perfectly every moment, either if it’s lived in person or told with photographs and videos.
If my videos are not enough to express the magic of this place, surely Dante Alighieri’s words can do it better: Monteriggioni is in fact mentioned in his Divina Commedia.
«[…] però che, come in su la cerchia tonda
(Dante Alighieri, Inferno canto XXXI, vv. 40-45)
Monteriggion di torri si corona,
così la proda che ‘l pozzo circonda
torregiavan di mezza la persona
li orribili giganti, cui minaccia
Giove del cielo ancora quando tona»
In the last few years Monteriggioni has acquired a huge touristic relevance, and has been chosen as part of the Italian Cultural Itineraries by the European Council, that has selected it in the via Francigena route.
The luxury estate Borgo Stomennano
The village – which probably owns his name ancient Etruscan settlement – was built above roman ruins and nowadays is a location for luxury weddings. Surrounded by woods nearby, the stately villa is an actual noble house, with wide and refined living rooms, frescos, painted ceilings and columns and of course very elegant bedrooms.
Faz and Oli’s wedding was celebrated in the garden: a marvelous Italian garden with a typical late-renaissance style, with cypresses, hedges and fountains showing off amazing water effects. The Borgo Stomennano estate is famous for its wine production. Chianti wine, Stomenanno Bianco and Extra virgin oil are produced there (did you know that the current wine cellar once was the chapel of the village?).
These wines and products are the perfect match for typical Tuscanian food among which stands out meats, cheeses, stuffed pasta and vegetable soups.

Why the wedding video is so important
Faz and Oli will be able to keep the memory of the most important day of their lives forever, thanks to the videos and photos me (the videographer) and Federica Cavicchi (the photographer) took. The approach I choose to narrate these intimate and touching moments is the video-reportage. The final work is a short film which has of course the bride and the groom as main characters, but their relatives and friends as well. What I want to do is to record the emotions of everyone in the most authentic and natural way.
This kind of job is not that easy at all: a video maker necessarily has to be very discreet and never intrusive to keep the authenticity of the moment and to enhance the couple and their ceremony. The goal is to communicate through images the syntony between the newlyweds and the surrounding environment, made of the location and their loved ones by their side. This is what spouses will want to remember forever, after all.
