Unlike other towns along the Amalfi Coast that develop right on the shoreline, Ravello rises on the hills, and this privileged position offers breathtaking views that create the perfect backdrop for wedding photos and films.
This small medieval village of about 2,500 residents has been a haven for artists, writers, and musicians for centuries. Richard Wagner visited Ravello in 1880 and was so captivated by the beauty of the gardens at Villa Rufolo that he recognized in them the magical garden of Klingsor, the setting of the second act of Parsifal. And Wagner was not alone. Virginia Woolf was enchanted by the ethereal atmosphere of the place and spent many summers at Villa Cimbrone. D.H. Lawrence wrote part of Lady Chatterley’s Lover here, while American writer Gore Vidal chose Ravello as his home for more than thirty years, living in the magnificent Villa La Rondinaia.

After the church ceremony, the newlyweds wandered through the streets of Ravello, welcomed by the fascinated glances of the locals.
