Getting married in Italy is a dream for many couples from around the world. From our experience as wedding videographers, we can say that each region and city has its own unique features, and we are truly lucky to have such a vast and varied heritage, from the Tuscan hills to the beautiful shores of our lakes and coasts. However, there is one city that stands out as particularly evocative and magical, and is often called “The Eternal City” or simply “the Urbe” (from Latin, meaning “City” and specifically referring to Rome par excellence).
Rome is one of those cities that needs no introduction; its very name evokes a whirlwind of images spanning centuries, from the Imperial era to the Dolce Vita of the last century. A place uniquely world-renowned, where every step recalls a story from the past. Many consider the Eternal City a true open-air museum, where even a simple walk can lead you to not only some of the most famous monuments in the world but also to many lesser-known gems, each with its own story, weaving together personal love stories with a broader, eternal narrative.
Rome’s Iconic Settings for Wedding Photos and Videos
With all this beauty, it’s obvious that for us photographers and wedding videographers, this city offers countless opportunities for breathtaking shots and footage, with famous locations and monuments framing the love story we are telling. You can even travel through time, starting with the many locations linked to ancient Rome, such as the Colosseum. The Colosseum, also known as the Flavian Amphitheatre, is undoubtedly one of the most recognizable symbols of the entire city: built almost 2000 years ago as an amphitheater for gladiatorial games and more, it could host around 70,000 people for these events – truly a stadium!
Moving forward in our journey through the centuries, there is another monument, although more recently constructed, that has carved out a special place in the hearts of many tourists: the Trevi Fountain. Despite being built less than 300 years ago, it too hides a much older history, as the area has always had a fountain connected to the aqueduct. However, the version we see today and where many tourists get photographed is the most famous, also tied to cinema history: who can forget Audrey Hepburn’s Roman Holiday or Kerstin Ekberg’s midnight bath in La Dolce Vita? But the postcard-perfect photo spots in Rome are truly numerous: fortunately, there is a trick to capture them all in one shot! Rome is built on the famous Seven Hills, so it’s possible to use one of the many panoramic points for a breathtaking view that includes some of the most famous monuments.

Celebrating Love in Rome at the Marriott Hotel
The venue chosen for Jacob and Allison’s wedding turned out to be a real gem, perfectly nestled in the heart of the Eternal City. The Marriott Grand Hotel Flora, with its panoramic terrace, offers a breathtaking visual spectacle that embraces all of Rome, providing the couple and their guests with a privileged view of centuries of history and beauty. Located on the famous Via Vittorio Veneto, the hotel is in an enviable position, straddling two worlds: on one side, the lush gardens of Villa Borghese, an oasis of greenery in the heart of the city; on the other, the imposing Roman walls, silent witnesses to millennia of history.
This street, immortalized by Fellini’s “Dolce Vita,” still exudes the glamour and charm that made it famous worldwide. The hotel itself is a tribute to that golden era, with its neoclassical style blending luxury, refinement, and elegance in a perfect union. Choosing a Marriott hotel for their special day demonstrates Jacob and Allison’s attention to quality and excellence. Renowned for its meticulous attention to detail, the Marriott chain stands out for its ability to make each property unique and perfectly integrated into the local context.
This philosophy ensures that each event, especially a wedding, is not only flawless but also intrinsically linked to the essence of the city hosting it. In the case of the Grand Hotel Flora, this translates into an experience that captures the very soul of Rome. From the flower-adorned balconies to the tastefully decorated rooms, every element contributes to creating an atmosphere that is both luxurious and intimately Roman. The couple and their guests are thus immersed in an environment that celebrates not only the couple’s love but also the rich history and timeless beauty of the Eternal City.
The Beginning of a New Adventure: Jacob and Allison’s Wedding
Every love story is like a journey, with stages that traverse different places and times. One of the most significant stages in Jacob and Allison’s love journey was Rome, where they fulfilled their dream and reached the highest peak. Getting married in the “Eternal City” was a symbolic choice, a wish that their bond may endure forever, like the charm of the place where they chose to unite. The day began early, with the couple surrounded by the love of their closest friends as they prepared for the most important day of their lives. Jacob and Allison looked truly elegant, and against the stunning backdrop of Rome, they seemed like two movie stars.
On the terrace of the Marriott Hotel, with the Roman skyline behind them, they intertwined their destinies, exchanging vows and saying the fateful “I do!”. Despite the weather not being what most couples would wish – slightly rainy – the smiles on their faces never faded; rather, it was their smiles and loving eyes that lit up the entire day. Moreover, despite many believing that rain is the only factor that can truly ruin one’s wedding day, Italy has a beautiful saying: “Sposa bagnata, sposa fortunata!” (Wet bride, lucky bride!). This ancient saying is a wish for prosperity for the couple and their future family, and also underscores how adversity can build a solid and lasting bond. After the ceremony, the couple, radiating happiness, joined their guests for an elegant and warm reception.
During the banquet, laughter and toasts filled the air, and close friends shared amusing and touching anecdotes about the couple, celebrating their love journey. As the sun set over the city, painting the sky in golden hues, the couple went out onto the panoramic terrace for some photographs and video footage against a breathtaking backdrop. There, with Rome at their feet, they shared a passionate kiss, sealing once again their promise of a life together.

From Vision to Reality: The Secrets of Impeccable Organization
Jacob and Allison’s wedding was a triumph of elegance, where every tiny detail reflected meticulous care and refined taste. For example, the visual harmony created by the floral arrangements, perfectly matching the bridesmaids’ dresses and the guests’ ties, helped to create an atmosphere of sophisticated harmony. This attention to detail, seemingly simple but impactful, captured the admiration of all present, demonstrating how true elegance often resides in the subtlest details. Behind this apparent simplicity lay the expert work of Anna K. Frem, CEO of Just Amore and internationally renowned wedding planner.
Her experience in organizing weddings in the most exclusive locations worldwide, particularly in Italy, proved essential to the success of the event. The challenge of orchestrating a wedding in a foreign country, with all the logistical and cultural complexities involved, requires extraordinary professionalism and expertise. In such situations, anxiety and nervousness can easily take over, and this is where the invaluable role of an experienced wedding planner comes into play. The presence of this professional figure, especially for couples particularly prone to stress, is perceived by the couple almost as a guardian angel, representing the constant reassurance that everything will be alright.
This awareness allowed Jacob and Allison to fully immerse themselves in the emotion of the moment, free from organizational concerns. The peace of mind knowing that any unforeseen issues would be handled professionally truly made a difference, turning what could have been a hectic day into a serene and joyful experience. A Love Story Told through Images
Wedding videos are essential for preserving the magic of such a special day. Unlike photographs, which capture individual moments, video has the unique power to immortalize the continuous flow of emotions, sounds, and movements that characterize the entire day. From the joyful nervousness of the preparations to the moving moment when the couple exchanges vows, to the contagious energy of the evening party, the video tells a complete and dynamic story.
Thirtyfive Studios’ approach to wedding videography goes beyond mere documentation, turning the wedding into a personalized cinematic work. Advanced techniques such as drone footage for aerial shots, steadicam for smooth movements, and hidden microphones for crystal-clear audio allow us to create a final product of the highest quality. These videos become true emotional short films, capable of making the couple and their loved ones relive not just what they saw but also what they felt on that special day. In this context, the collaboration with talented photographers like Sissi and Carmela from Le Velo Photography further enriches the wedding’s visual experience.
These two professionals, partners in work and life, bring their passion for photography, fashion, and travel to every shot. As destination wedding photographers, they travel across Italy and the world, transforming couples’ dreams into breathtaking images that seamlessly integrate with the video narrative. Their approach, focused on capturing every moment of happiness and beauty, aligns perfectly with our wedding videography philosophy. Together, video and photography create a complete and multidimensional memory, allowing the couple to relive the emotions of their special day for a lifetime. This synergy between videography and photography ensures that no detail or emotion is lost, creating a treasure of memories that couples can cherish and share for years to come.
