Some marriages are simply different from others. Sometimes what makes the difference is the amazing and innovative idea that the wedding planner has organized specifically for that couple’s wedding, other times it is the location chosen to celebrate the wedding, other times it’s all about the activities you do to share that special day with your guests. But when there is no wedding planner, the location is just a base to prepare for the magical moment and there are no guests, what’s left of a wedding?
I believe that the success of a marriage is basically in the harmony and energy that is established between the spouses and the place where the wedding is celebrated: this is the factor that really plays an important difference. Of course, a whole series of other elements can compete for the success of a ceremony, but when everything is reduced to a minimum, as in the case of an elopement, this alchemy is ever more important.
The elopement of Anna and Kyle, of which I will tell you in this article, takes place in the enchanting setting of the Amalfi Coast, which, with its steep cliffs, its picturesque villages overlooking the sea and a spectacular panoramic view, is one of the most desired and sought after destinations by couples around the world. This place has a unique and very powerful energy, produced by the perennial embrace between sky, earth and sea, and those who celebrate their marriage in this land, indissolubly bind their union to this eternal association between the element. The Amalfi Coast thus becomes not only a scenic backdrop for a wedding video, but an active protagonist and accomplice of this important chapter in the life of the spouses.
The elopement is perhaps the winning form of marriage for this place in particular because the couple, being alone to celebrate the wedding, can focus on the genuineness of their bond, freeing themselves from unnecessary distractions. The absence of a wedding planner and the simplicity of the location also become elements that highlight the true essence of marriage: the love shared between two people.

The eternal charm of weddings on the Amalfi Coast
The Amalfi Coast, with its breathtaking sunsets and cliffs that rise proudly above the windy waters, wrapped in the scents of the sea and of freshly picked lemons, is today one of the most desired destinations by tourists. Known as the “Divine” Coast, it offers surreal landscapes of terraces suspended between sea and sky, which is why every year it conquers the hearts of lovers from every corner of the planet, who want to celebrate their love and imprint it forever in the video of their wedding in this unique setting in the world. Walking along the cliffs allows you to listen to the surf of the sea, admire the boats suspended over the blue, and enjoy the local pleasures in restaurants overlooking the sea: the Coast awakens in the collective imagination the idea of elegance combined with tradition and timeless romance, in perfect “La Dolce Vita” style.
Caressed by the wind, illuminated by the shining sun and lapped by the sea, the Amalfi Coast is an authentic earthly paradise where all the alchemical elements, air, water, earth and fire come together and take tangible form. In this earthly Eden love finds its refuge, lulled by the eternal beauty of one of the most fascinating coasts of the world.
Working as a videographer, I have witnessed different types of ceremonies on the Amalfi Coast: from the most evocative ones organized in private beaches, terraced gardens or ancient cloisters, to the more traditional ones celebrated in ancient churches or historic villas. Weddings on the Amalfi Coast are all characterized by a fusion of romance, culture, good food and spectacular views. The picturesque coastal villages such as Positano and Ravello (just to name a couple of the most famous ones) offer fascinating backgrounds for exchanging votes and celebrating with friends and family, as well as ensuring a 360 degree Italian experience, which of course, also includes good food. The coastal restaurants are specialized in offering unforgettable culinary experiences, with local dishes that enclose all the magic of this place, delighting the palate of the newlyweds and their guests.

Sant’Agata dei due Golfi: a secret paradise
Anna and Kyle celebrated their elopement in a small villa in Sant’Agata dei due Golfi, in the Sorrento peninsula, in the province of Naples. The name of this town derives from its unique location that allows a spectacular view of both the Gulf of Naples and Salerno. The village is characterized by folk streets, colorful houses and a central square animated by bars, restaurants and craft shops.
Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi is also an ideal starting point for exploring the Amalfi Coast and the Sorrento Peninsula: its strategic position allows you to easily reach other famous places in Campania, such as Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi and Pompeii.
Among the main attractions of Sant’Agata there is the pretty church dedicated to the patron saint of the village in the town square, which houses valuable works of art and offers a magnificent panoramic view. In addition, the town is renowned for its traditional cuisine, with restaurants that offer typical dishes of Campania, such as pizza, fresh pasta and sweets typical of the region such as delizie al limone and sorbets made with authentic Sorrento lemons.
What characterizes this village is its position, clearly elevated above sea level: if you are used to imagine a resort on the coast as characterized exclusively by the sea, be prepared to be surprised, because in some places in Sant’Agata dei due Golfi, clouds touch the ground, literally (I managed to capture this beautiful phenomenon in the wedding video of Anna and Kyle)!
Despite being less known and touristy than other coastal resorts, this small village is an extraordinary place. As I have already pointed out, what really makes the difference for the success of a marriage is the energy that is established between the couple and the territory that welcomes them, and the harmony of Anna and Kyle could not have found a better setting than that offered by the charming and enchanting Amalfi Coast.
Between love and the sea, the elopement of Anna and Kyle
Anna and Kyle celebrated their wedding and exchanged their promises on the terrace of Villa Esposito, a small villa perched on the highest point of Sant’Agata. As they pronounced the fateful “I do!” the sun behind them was preparing to set, drawing their faces with a warm golden light. Like any good elopement, the couple was alone with their parents and wedding witnesses, with no distractions or guests to look after. They were only there for each other, immersed in an ancestral landscape that created a truly sacred atmosphere.
After the ceremony, I asked the couple to indulge in a moment of contemplation of the wonderful surrounding landscape, during the couple shooting phase. Anna and Kyle exchanged hugs, caresses and sweet kisses, the first as husband and wife, while the wind caressed their bodies and faces. There was no one within miles, there was a fresh brackish air and the temperature was really perfect. Up there, on the highest point of the cliff, the landscape is bare and the blue reflections of the sea bounced everywhere contrasting the golden rays of the sun on the horizon; in the distance, the other islets seem to float on a sea of clouds that move as fast as waves.
I’m sure it was a very touching moment for the couple: alone, immersed in nature and its four elements, their two souls were deeply connected, and I could feel in a palpable way the immense love that binds them.
The beauty of elopement is just to feel the only and the only protagonists of the most important day of your life, charging the day of your wedding with a very strong spiritual connection, which takes on even greater significance especially for a very devoted couple like Anna and Kyle. To unite and celebrate one’s love before God there is no need for either an audience or too many frills: love itself is enough, which guides every step and illuminates every gesture, as it did with this young couple.

Emotions that last forever: the video and photographs of the wedding
Preserving memories of your wedding is a fundamental step to keep the magic of that special day alive. Photographs and videos are precious treasures that can carry anyone in the beauty and emotion of those moments, allowing even people who could not be physically present to be partakers of a unique moment. This is always true, but it certainly has even greater value especially for weddings celebrated in exotic or distant places: Shots and shots become the way to share with friends and distant family the emotions and feelings lived in that unique and evocative context. The synergistic work between the videographer and the photographer becomes essential to capture every moment with authenticity and convey the atmosphere and beauty of the moment.
During the wedding of Anna and Kyle I met Francesco Rossi, a young and talented matrimonialist photographer. We immediately got along, being both professionals with a “humanist” approach (that is, we favor spontaneity and intimacy, leaving aside the rigidity of the posed to capture the true essence of emotions with naturalness). This sharing of artistic vision has created a special bond between us, so much so that, in addition to collaborating professionally, we have also become good friends. Our harmony has made possible not only a high quality end result, but also a pleasant and rewarding work experience. I hope that this fruitful collaboration will not end with this wedding, but that it will continue in the future, allowing us to tell other love stories with the same passion and dedication.
